MAFITUD held it's fourth national meeting in Nádasdladány on September 2, 2006.
MAFITUD was founded in 2005 by the winners of the Hungarian Scientific and Innovation Contest for Youth. The society´s goal is to help encouraging young scientists, and to widespread innovative vision.
The Hungarian Association for Innovation (MISZ) and Hungarian Foundation for Innovation supported the foundation of MAFITUD, and also helped organize the national meeting.
This year's meeting, titled "Brain gain - utilization of knowledge gained abroad", was held in the Nádasdy Academy, led by Tünde Burus, MAFITUD leader.
Opening speeches were by Ferenc Nádasdy, host of the event, and Dr. Gábor Szabó, Vice-President of Hungarian Association for Innovation.
Speeches were held by five lecturers.
Dr. Miklós Boda, President of the National Office for Research and Technology, the event´s main sponsor, talked about sponsorship opportunities for young scientists.
Dr. László Ürge, Vice-President of MISZ, CEO of AMRI Hungary, presented a lecture titled "R&D and innovation in the US economy: what can Hungary learn?", presenting how a small Hungarian company gained international recognition.
Dr. Ferenc Simon, Talentum-prize awarded lecturer at BME, shared useful knowledge about research grants, titled "In Europe with Marie Curie; the human resources and mobility programs of the EU".
Zsolt Monszpart, Vice-President of Ericsson Hungary, gave us an insight on Swedish business practices and ethics.
From MTA SZTAKI, Péter Baranyi PhD. gave a presentation titled "Japan, the country of the ´rising´ research", about opportunities in Japanese education, and Japanese work morale, institutions, and Hungarian-Japanese cooperation.
Group discussion followed each lecture, numerous questions were asked regarding the lectures.
After the lectures, Balázs Fülei gave a piano concert, performing Liszt and Bartók.
Closing the event, members were transferred to Kápolnásnyék, where they had dinner in Hotel Holdfény, continuing informal discussions about their research projects, and any other experiences.

2nd national Meeting of Hungarian Young Scientists
2-3 september, 2005, Visegrád
The 2nd meeting of the Hungarian Young Scientists took place in Visegrád, on 2-3 September 2005, with the cooperation and support of the British Council and the Ministry of Economy.
